As well as collecting Star Bits for the player, the orange Luma can attack enemies and collect items such as coins and bubbles, holding on to them until Mario needs them. The game also allows a second player to control an orange Luma to assist Mario. These include a drill that allows the player to drill through planets the Rock Mushroom, which allows the player to smash through barriers and the Cloud Flower, which allows the player to create new platforms in midair. Also, new items and gameplay mechanics have been showcased since the game's unveiling at E3 2009. Power-ups such as the Bee, Boo, and Spring Mushrooms will also be returning, along with the Launch Stars and Sling Stars for interplanetary navigation. Some of the mechanics introduced in Super Mario Galaxy will return, such as blue Pull Stars, sections restricting movement to a 2D plane, balance ball levels, and gravity-reversing background arrows. This can be used for swinging off objects, pulling levers or, as in previous games, swallowing enemies and spitting them out. While the player retains the ability to collect Star Bits with the blue Star Pointer from the first game, the Star Pointer is replaced by a red dot when riding Yoshi, which allows the player to aim and control his tongue. Mario will be able to ride the dinosaur Yoshi, who can use his tongue to swing across gaps, as well as eat fruits that give him various powers, such as speed boosts, the ability to inflate like a balloon, or the power to reveal secret paths. The planets will also be smaller, allowing the player to jump from planet to planet more often. Gameplay will be similar to that of the first Super Mario Galaxy, with a focus on platforming based on and around 3D planets (referred to collectively as galaxies) with varying sizes and landscapes. The game made its playable debut at the Nintendo Summit 2010 on February 24, 2010, when a second trailer for the game was released, and its North American release date on was finally announced Wii, into the game, and was confirmed by Nintendo's Senior Manager of Product Managing, Bill Trinen, who claimed that the feature is implemented differently compared to what New Super Mario Bros. Miyamoto initially hinted that the game might utilize the "Super Guide" feature, introduced in New Super Mario Bros. Development for the game has been finalized, and the game's soundtrack, which, like that of the original game, is composed for a symphony orchestra, has been recorded. In regards to the original game, Nintendo of America President and CEO Reggie Fils-Aime stated in an interview that the sequel would be more challenging, and Miyamoto said in a Wired interview that the game would have less focus on plot. In Miyamoto's private conference, it was stated at the time that the game is very far along in development, but its release was held back to mid-2010, due to New Super Mario Bros. The game is said to have 95–99% new features, with the rest being previous features introduced in Super Mario Galaxy. Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto stated that the development team had originally planned just to do variations on the original game's planets, but over time thought of all-new ideas. So, if you are into modding then you can certainly have some fun that way.Super Mario Galaxy 2 was revealed at Electronic Entertainment Expo 2009. On PC, you do not officially have those Nintendo levels of course, but the game has been hotly supported by the modding community. I would say that the Zelda level alone makes the Wii U version an essential purchase. On the Nintendo Wii U, Sonic Lost World added in levels based on Nights into Dreams, Yoshi and most awesomely of all, The Legend Of Zelda.

I originally played the game on the Wii U and Sega did an awesome job in supporting the game with free DLC. I actually liked the exploration aspect of the game and think had they focused more on this that the parkour, Sonic Lost World could have been a very different kind of game. The gameplay is what you would expect from a typical 3D Sonic game and one thing that I do like is the way the words have a kind of cylinder feel to it. These two things are sometimes at odds with each other and the new parkour mechanics when they work are great, but sometimes you just flat outfall. One thing that this game tries to do is make levels about speed and exploration. The gameplay is what most people will criticize the game for and in some cases, I can see why. I love the overall presentation for this game and think that they did a great job with the game in that regard. Sonic Lost World is still a fantastic looking game. At the time this was the best that Sonic the Hedgehog had ever looked.
